I must say he seems remarkably calm. I'm looking forward to him finding a bookstore. Maybe run by mutated cockroaches that invite him into their book club.
If I had a city all to myself, I'd stock a high-rise wood floor apartment with all the best bourbon and vintage editions of classic books I could find. I'd have a dog and spend my days reading, wandering the city looking for new treasures, and writing. also, have you read the Dresden Files and/or The Last Detective? the wry, funny tone of the former reminds of your style, and the plot of hte latter reminds me of this story
Okay, I need these books then. Any in particular of the Dresden Files you'd recommend? And Who's The Last Detective author? Turns out there are a few books by that name.
I’m 100% confident you’ll love Dresden Files: there’s an extremely sarcastic talking skull, tons of deadpan humour, and it’s the most successful urban fantasy series of the last 20 years. Just note that the first two books are fun but not incredible - Butcher gets much much better as of book 3 and things get a lot more epic and tightly written. Also, I realized I was actually thinkig of The Last Policement by Ben H Winters!

🫡 Adding these now. Thank you!
I laughed several times, great character voice. You got me hooked.
Honestly, this was the singular compliment I wanted to hear most. THANK YOU!
[Writing this before even clicking the link.] Vegas destroyed by meteors? I want to see this movie!
Haha, glad it’s an exciting concept!
